We founded Rise Up Krav Maga with one goal in mind: giving our students the best, most rewarding learning experience.
Rise Up Krav Maga is located in Sans Souci and reflects the vibrant energy of the area. Our passionate and skilled team members are here to help students achieve their goals.
We provide reality based self defence lessons suitable for civilians to all members of the community as young as 5 years old. Each class is adapted to suit a variety of physical capabilities to ensure all participants receive a high quality lesson and understanding of Krav Maga.
We can also provide training to law enforcement agencies such as, police and security and offer corporate training to businesses and large organisations. This is a great team building activity and at the same time we are providing the team with the self defence skills needed to manage a threatening situation.
Rest assured lessons will have you feeling energised, fit, confident and looking forward to the next session all whilst training in a safe, fun and secure environment.

"Krav Maga gives solutions to specific situational problems."
Founder of KMG, Master Level 3
Krav Maga means "contact combat" and is a tactical self defence system that can be applied to real life threatening situations. It is the leading system of its kind in the world, known for its practical and realistic techniques and tactics for avoiding, preventing, deterring, or otherwise handling all types of violent confrontations.
First developed as a military combat system by Imi Lichtenfeld for the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) in 1948, Krav Maga has since been adapted to meet the needs of civilians, law enforcement officers and security personnel all around the world. It is now globally recognized as the most comprehensive self defence system that has a focus on real life situations.
It consists of a wide combination of techniques sourced from aikido, judo, boxing and wrestling, along with realistic fight training. Krav Maga encourages students to avoid confrontation. If this is impossible or unsafe, it promotes finishing a fight as quickly as possible. Attacks are aimed at the most vulnerable parts of the body, and training drills provide maximum safety to students by the use of protective equipment and the use of reasonable force.
In 2010, Eyal Yanilov, Imi's closest assistant, established Krav Maga Global (KMG), a global infrastructure that would train students and enable them to rise up the ranks, eventually becoming instructors themselves if they wished to do so. The organisation was designed to provide a structured format to Krav Maga whilst maintaining a strict standard of training.
KMG’s Krav Maga system is continuing to be developed by Master Eyal, adapting it to meet the changing needs of civilians of all ages, military units, law enforcement officers and security personnel. It is an evolving system, which provides novel solutions for dynamic situations.
